Wing of the Year 2024!!

700 Wing has been the National RCAFA “Wing of the Year” in Canada for three straight years between 2022 through 2024!!

Summary List of Donations and Events over last 10 years 700 Wing has donated over $300,000 in the past decade to support veterans, the Air Force, youth in aviation, and various other organizations supported in our mandate. This includes:

• Over $45,000 to veterans’ organizations such as Kipnes Centre for Veterans, Homes for Heroes, and the Veterans Food Bank.

• Over $21,000 to our regular Force organizations like 408 Squadron and the Military Family Resource Centre.

• Over $70,000 to create or maintain monuments to the military including our own Aviation Memorial, the RCAF

• Commemorative Park, and the Beverly Cenotaph.

• $40,000 to various Aviation Museums displaying RCAF and/or Royal Canadian Air Cadet history.

• Approximately $140,000 to the Alberta Air Cadet program through either the Air Cadet League of Canada Alberta

• Provincial Committee, for gliding and other programs, or directly to the twelve Air Cadet Squadrons in the greater

• Edmonton area.

• An additional $15,000 to other aviation and youth in aviation related organizations.

Conduct recurring events including:

• A Robbie Burns Day event every January in partnership with Kipnes Centre for Veterans.

• The Edmonton and area Battle of Britain Parade each September.

• A Remembrance Day Service that averages over 500 attendees annually.

• The Alberta Airshow - Provide planning and operational support to the event organizers as required.

• Promote civil and military aviation to our community through community engagement, regular speaker events and social media.

Noteworthy Events:

• 2015 - Battle of Britain 75th Anniversary and RCAF Commemorative Park unveiling.

• 2019 - 700 Wing 70th Anniversary Dinner and Annual General Meeting for Alberta Group’s five wings.

• 2024 - RCAF 100th Anniversary of the RCAF Gala Dinner
